Maleko - Thinking Outloud

I have to be honest, I don't own the Thinking Outloud album :( But I have a rip of the tape version on Mini-Disc and my opinion is, that I prefer this version over the CD version. The only thing I have to add is that it belongs to my favorite Deeskee produced albums...

Albums, I better shouldn't have sold/lost Part V

Another fine compilation with people from the Anticon folks. There is one song on it which marks my favorite song from Sage Francis. It is called "Inherited Scars", is produced by DJ Mayonnaise and sounds like it could be a production from Mum's The Word. You can also find this song on Sage Francis "Personal Journals" album and on the "Climb Trees" 12" but not the instrumental! But this album also has some other interesting stuff to check out!

Anonymous Inc. RE-UP
The album itself fits perfectly to the upcoming winter time, most of the tracks are instrumentals that are partly moody with abrupt change of tempo and style. You won't be bored for sure! Some tracks contain raps and on some you can hear Ceschi or David singing.
An interesting track for example is "Broken Wings" with Dose One who gained attention at that time with his group Clouddead and the whole Anticon fam that was also gaining more and more popularity for their different approach of Hip-Hop music as they were originally musicians who migrated to Hip-Hop. There are alot of similarities between the music on this album and the music that has left the Anticom fam btw! Tommy V and Maleko from the La2thebay fam also appear on the same track as a surprise because at that time members of the Anticon fam rarely collaborated outside of Anticon.
Another interesting appearance comes from Perfecto from the Copacetic Concepts fam that we dealt with some months ago. Sorry, but I can't recall who started it.

El Uno - Sensate St.

Unipersonalis, Sensate St., Elee Uno, Lixto Flo and many more are the aliases of El Uno. He is not that type of full-time artist although his album was released on Highground, home of the FTA. It took me some time and patience to get this one because at the time I bought it, it wasn't really available anymore and I was lucky to buy it by request. El Uno now seems to name himself Lixto Flo and what I have last heard is, that he is working in NYC as some kind of graphics designer.
The interesting thing in El Uno is his style, because he is able to combine a good flow with a soulful voice. His lyrics cover funny but also serious themes, while the track "Cold Sweat" is an example of a serious one describing the situation of a person who shoots a store clerk during a robbery and the results on his life. But there is way more to explore on this one....

2Mex - B-Boys In Occupied Mexico
This is my favorite 2Mex solo release to date and I'm very proud to provide this one because I once lended it to a friend and after that it had a lot of scratches on the bottom side that even my CD-Player wasn't able to play it without skips. But thanks to XLD there are no audible errors!

Tags Of The Times III
Hello, today I wanted to listen to this fine compilation again that I haven't heard in years and I thought by myself: "Why not sharing it with the other guys?". I can remember buying the CD on a trip to Paris, mais oui!
Again there are so much artists on this release that all their names can't make it into the tags list :(

Below The Surface Presents: Strictly Indee
Below The Surface back in the day was a record label and store based in Cali run by Kegs I think. It had some really cool releases like a limited 7" series that are absolutely worth a check.
On this release you will find a bunch of cool cats like Equipto of Bored Stiff, Kirby Dominant, the Constylations(Style MISIA, AONE, Diverse, Pisces, Amorpheus and Esoin), BOAC and Top Ramen from The Earthlings, Shing02 and Doc Maxwell who also collaborate on the Tags Of Times 3 Compilation, the Freelancers (Maleko and Da Golden Ray), Deeskee, Tommy V, the Westcoast Workforce(Anti MC, Joe Dub, Subtitle, Premonition, Megabusive and Radioinactive) and Sole, Jel, Alias and Pedestrian from Anticon.
And that weren't even all !

Darkleaf - Eclectic Storm 12"

According to the Darkleaf/Nobody 12" by JackDevo I have also ripped a Darkleaf 12" on Ubiquity. Like the DJ Zeph 12" it also contains a Remix by DJ Design. A nice track it is where DJ Design again proofed his production skills. The instrumental of the Remix is also included. The B-Side contains two weird sounding but cool tracks.

An Older Selection Of Tracks
According to the Anticon Giga Single, I made my own selection of tracks and called it my own "Giga Single". It was at a time when 2Mex was my favorite MC and the Visionaries visited my hometown and gaved one of the greatest concerts I have ever seen. It's a pity that I don't have a track with Key-Kool on it. But there are some tracks with 2Mex featuring Xololanxinxo, Iriscience, Busdriver, Riddlore, Nodody and Mum's The Word on it. And there are also tracks with other artists to explore...

Mikah 9 - Timetable

For all the Fellowship lovers Mikah 9 released this fine CD in 2001 with material that was unreleased before. You can find excerpts from freestyles of Mikah 9 from Radio sessions and from Good Life sessions. Additionally there is a live recording of "American Nightmare" and there are some tracks that were previously unreleased, for example "Sand To The Beach" and "Fruit Don't Fall". To complete 23 tracks plus one bonus track, Daddy Kev provided some beats to also offer newer works and not only stuff from the past.
Some of the tracks are like a mystery to me. Especially the track "What You See Is What You Get" where it is stated, that it is Produced by Mikah and Sinatra. Frank Sinatra? I dont' know but nearly everything is possible!
