Bleu Collar
Following up to the Slant Special there is also this album I have to post. Slant produced 2 tracks on it and there are also tracks on it that are produced by Eligh, Mum's The Word, Grouch and Champ of whom I haven't heard of before but DiscoG's says that he also produced one track for Rasco and one for the Cali Agents.
Bleu Collar are Basik who you might already know and Reese 1 of whom I heard that he was in Jail back in the day what could be the reason that he is relatively unknown. DiscoG's says that Reese also has a different group called King Fantastic who had two releases recently.

Graffiti Kings
Today I will throw in another fine compilation. Again a bunch of dope artists appear on it as you can see in the tags list below. The DicoGs entry states appearances of Abstract Rude and Pete Rock which is not correct! But Pete Rock did one beat for Spinderella of Salt'n'Pepa and Suga B from Urban Prop. Pretty nice combo btw! Other pearls are Awol One's track called "Life" with its sluggish beat, Swollen Member's "Deep End" and ?

Eligh - A Story Of 2 Worlds
Just heard the new album of Eligh and I thought that I upload this fine release. It is Eligh's second album and he released it on Tape and on CD in 1997. Production is mostly handled by Eligh himself plus Elusive, Grouch and by Bizarro aka Bicasso on a very nice track called Plantlife were Bizarro also kicks some verses. Features also come from Scarub, Murs, Basik, PSC, BFAP, ASOP and Grouch.
I can remember a record store were this CD laid for some years. Everytime I went through the CDs, I thought: "Hmm, I'm not sure. Should I buy it or not?". But in the end I bought it and it was a good decision, it took long but I made it. When I hear "Fisherman's Lot" it comes to my mind and I'm feeling good. Or Congestion, or...

Basik - At The Mercy Of The City
After Apex Predator, Basik did an album in 2000 that was released on CD only plus a 12" off it. I can remember that I bought this one before the Apex Predator CD but I knew the tape version of Apex Predator and in 2000 it was impossible to find. Although any appearance of Slant is missing, it is very cool too. But I'm posting also this one because there are also appearances of the Copacetic Concepts members Imaginative Eye, Perfecto and Black Tongue. Besides them Eligh, Grouch Anacron, Anon, dB and PSC also bless the album with their work. Recommendable are the tracks "The Moment", "Generation X-Flies" where you can find the beat on Eligh's US version of Gandalfs Beat Machine, "Wanna Be Weirds", "Mr. Flossangeles", "Chalkboard Strategy" sick! and "Convining Swines". What do you think?

Basik MC - Apex Predator

Being originally released as a tape in 1998 you'll herewith find the CD version of Basik MCs "Apex Predator". In contrary to the tape version the CD version has of course a better sound quality and also some more tracks. It carries all tracks that are on the tape plus two new tracks. By providing 6 beatz for the album ranging from hard-hitting to experimental-abstract to laid-back type of ish Slant of Onomatopoeia did an excellent job. Other producers who took care of them beatz are Eligh, Mr. Len, Grouch and 2 Fat and Eye-3 of Copacetic Concepts. Perfecto, another Copacetic Concepts member appears on 2 tracks. Other features come from Eligh, Grouch, Aesop, Scarub, Murs and also from Slant. All of them including Basik who of course delivera some dope stuff that is worth a check.
You can find more stuff from the Copacetic Concepts on the Ghetto Tyylit Blog.

Rules Of The Game 12"

A small but fine release featuring 3 tracks that were taken from the "Rules Of The Game" compilation plus their instrumentals will await you here. The Stiff are represented with a banging beat produced by TD Camp and performances by Kwanzaa and Pablo according to the credits list on the record. The next track has a laid back beat with constantly falling Hi-Hats produced by the Angel, a female DJ/producer with Mystic on the mic. At last there is a track by the Living Legends members Grouch, Asop and PSC. The laid-back beat is put together by the Grouch.
This record is the only one that was taken off the "Rules Of The Game" compilation which were also the only releases from Tripek Records.

Show Respect Here!

What should I say? Hella MCs and hella beats. What is also interesting is the way that some tracks split over some other releases. First there is an EP off this album, the track "Sealed Fate" is on Pigeon John's "Clueless" 12", "Permanent Paradise" is on Awol One's "Three Eyed Crows" and on the EP of it and "B-Boy Real McCoy" is on Aceyalone's "Accepted Eclectic" album and 12".
Three other definite bangers on this album are:
Ah, forget it and make your own decision :P

Albums, I better shouldn't have sold/lost Part VII

Way back in the last millenium, Bicasso's former artist name was Bizarro and his label was called Dirtworks. I don't feel so good about having sold this one because it is very hard to find for now and it is some totally different stuff. For 1999 it was some type of ish that was way beyond its time.

Omid - Monolith

This is Omid's third album which is half instrumental and the other half with features from Aceyalone, Slug, Murs, PSC, DJ Drez, Spoon of Iodine, Buck 65, Abstract Rude, 2Mex, Busdriver and Hymnal. I offer you the probably best rip on the net you can find of this one so don't miss the chance to check it out...

Albums, I better shouldn't have sold/lost Part II

I don't really understand, why I have sold this one. It has so much interesting features especially on "Paint A Picture" with the Global Phlowtations and Slant or "Secrets" with Eclipse 427 and Kirby Dominant or "My Everyday" with Bored Stiff. You can also find the Living Legends members on all the other tracks.

Albums, I better shouldn't have sold/lost Part I

I can't really remember, what happened to this one. I think it's lost and it is really a pity! The only thing I remember what could be the reason for the loss, is the fact that I took some CD's with me to work to rip them there. The fact that this one is encoded with Lame 3.98 leads to the conclusion that it must have been ripped last year, as I surely didn't recoded it!
To say something about the album itself, it was released in 1998 and completely produced by Elusive. As you can see on the picture, there are some nice features on it including a track with Mikah 9 and L'Roneous, one with ASOP, Grouch's second best track(my favorite is on Fat Jack's - Cater To The DJ 2) together with Bizarro and others... The overall beats are very dark with deep basses, perfect for pumping them in a car with a big sub-woofer. I can remember when I was on a car convention for hobbyists and I went around playing this CD in other cars with custom build car stereos. Everyone who heard the music wondered where I got it from because it really pushed the car stereos to their limits :D
