Abstract Rude & Myka 9 are AyeM Ray-DIO
It's already some weeks old and I still don't know what to think about this album. My own expectations were totally different from the actual release. Since the moment I first heard Mikah 9's 'It's All Love' and already hearing ATU's 'South Central Thynk Taynk' a million times I waited for a collaboration album between Mikah 9 and Abstract Rude with production from Joseph Leimberg and Fat Jack that would blow me away.
So, it is not what I expected it to be but it absolutely grew on me and it is definitely worth a check!

Freestyle Fellowhip - Hot Potato 12"
2day I have recorded this Freestyle Fellowship promo record that is the only one except the test press that contains the instrumental of Hot Potato. Hot Potato comes in 3 different vocal versions were all Fellowship members appear on. Additionally, Ganjah K has an uncredited appearance.

I received this one from someone who bought this CD on a show some month ago. This EP seems to have some tracks from the new album that is going to drop soon. Check it out.

Freestyle Fellowship - To Whom It May Concern

To make the time short between now and the release of the new FF album, you'll find all 3 albums and one EP within the next days starting with their first release 2day. Innercity Griots their second release is already available here btw.
For all who haven't heard this album, let me tell ya that some peepz think that it was groundbreaking in the rap history for its styles. In the movie "This is the life" it was told that they thought: "Oh shit, I can't do it the old way anymore, I have to change my style of rapping". You can check their styles even better by listening to the Accapellas. In my opinion "Physical Form" by P.E.A.C.E is very interesting cause he raps about McBeth from Hamlet in a funny way for example. I have also added the Mix version which was done by J-Sumbi.

Freestyle Fellowship - Innercity Griots

The Fellowships second installment featuring a bunch of interesting people dropped in '93 one year before the Good Life Café closed the doors and a new era began with the Project Blowed. Like Volume 10's "HipHopera", "Innercity Griots" was released on a major label which was a good thing for the popularity but probably it also was a reason for the end of the Good Life. The movie "This Is The Life" dealt with the growing popularity and the impact on the Good Life sessions. If you haven't seen it for now, I can recommend you to watch this movie because it presents a part of HipHop history.
This album contains the first Heavyweights track featuring high level MCs Ganjah K, Big Arch, Spoon, Volume 10 and Cockney'O'Dire besides the Fellowship. BTW, Mikah 9 has a really crazy appearance on this one! Most of the production is handled by the Earthquake Brothers, a crew of producers, which consists of Jamm Messenger Devine aka JMD, Mathmattics, DJ Kiilu and Mighty O-Roc. They also join creative forces on the Project Blowed compilation!

Albums, I better shouldn't have sold/lost Part VI

Another compilation but this time its with a totally different cast! Celestial Recordings only label based compilation brings you the Alien Nation, P.E.A.C.E., Self Jupiter, DK Toon, Ellay Khule and others from Vortex Recordings a subsidiary of Celestial. One very interesting thing about it is the hint inside that they already had the Zimulated Experiences II in the works. The track "Close Encounters" appears here and there. You can also find tracks from the Beneath The Surface compilation, the Alien Nation album "Earth Defenders", Naptron's "Styles Of Madness", Hive's "Working With Sound", Phoenix Orion's "Zimulated Experiences", Supernatural's "Armageddon At Your Door 12" " and from some Vortex releases I think which are Drum'n'Bass and not Hip-Hop.
