Who Framed The A-Team?

You might have heard the A-Team on the Project Blowed compilation for the first time on the track "Maskeraid" for example. Here they (Abstract Rude & Aceyalone) are again but this time with a full-length album. There is another Heavyweights track on it, so that you can find all the released ones on this blog.

Daddy Kev - Lost Angels EP

Style Misia - Rebel Music (RE-UP)

Ok, it's the last one I'm offering. 17 tracks lasting almost 62 minutes there are some more features on it. Especially the appearance of P.E.A.C.E. is a surprise. Production is handled by Style Misia himself again. The track "Die Another Day" also appears on the 7" record "Style Misia & Left - D&C Affiliates". If you are interested in newer stuff from Style Misia be sure to check his Bandcamp-Site. There you will be able to load 3 albums from him for free.

Update: Naptron - Afekz Of Metatron

Naptron is a member of Alien Nation crew which had its born place in Brooklyn/NYC. On an Alien Nation 12inch there is written:
Naptron
Alias : Meta-Predator
Function : Seismic Verbalizer
"The mind is my playpen."
Can turn foes into helpless accomplices by injecting cerebro-shells into their brainstems... gives him control of their minds... has a cruel sense of humor... arms himself by having victims debase themselves. Voice modulator has ability to cause localized earth tremors.

On this album he frequently uses his dark deep- and also a midget like voice. Someone who fits perfectly to Naptron is P.E.A.C.E. who has multiple appearances as Marvin Frye while Naptron appears as Seymour Frye. Other appearances are Phoenix Orion on "Show me what you got", D.V. Alias Khrist on a Skit, Orion South on "I can see it in your eyes", Supernatural on the Intro song and "Bredren" and the Alien crew on "Omega Minus Function".
Unfortunately, the production credits aren't given but there is also a 12" test pressing out there which states that Daddy Kev and Hive took care of the production on tracks that also appear on this album. Another EP also states the same.

Update: I cut out the silence on some tracks and normalized them to the same level. It now sounds better.

Nobody - Soulmates

Nobody? Soulmates! Is it weird? No, it isn't. It is very relaxing with its smooth instrumentals and just some fine vocal tracks. Was it on vinyl? Yeah, there are two different vinyl versions of it. And there is also a CD version with one extra track plus 2 EPs and one 12". Just now I'm also listening to this while Soulmates is running. Fits nicely!

Naptron Selecta

Thanks to Jack Devo over at Beetbak this selection is not lost! In the following weeks I will also try to take care of the stuff that isn't up anymore. If you have some wishes you can hit me up under the email to your right.
You can also expect another selection of tracks of a group that I don't want to mention for now. But I hope and think that you guys might like it. See ya till then and in the following is the text to the original post to Naptron Selecta:

I put together some tracks from Naptron that weren't posted up for now. Containing approx. 40minutes on 8 tracks you will find 3 tracks that you might already know but the other 5 might be new to you. That's no wonder, some are unreleased, as long as I know.
But hold tight! Most of the tracks are real bangers! Persons who also appear are Otherwize, Rockin' Squat, Pyroman, Medusa, P.E.A.C.E. and Mama Moon.

Freestyle Fellowship - To Whom It May Concern

To make the time short between now and the release of the new FF album, you'll find all 3 albums and one EP within the next days starting with their first release 2day. Innercity Griots their second release is already available here btw.

For all who haven't heard this album, let me tell ya that some peepz think that it was groundbreaking in the rap history for its styles. In the movie "This is the life" it was told that they thought: "Oh shit, I can't do it the old way anymore, I have to change my style of rapping". You can check their styles even better by listening to the Accapellas. In my opinion "Physical Form" by P.E.A.C.E is very interesting cause he raps about McBeth from Hamlet in a funny way for example. I have also added the Mix version which was done by J-Sumbi.

Mikah 9 - Citrus Sessions

Eleven years have past and the "Citrus Sessions" is what "It's All Love" could have been and what "A Work In Progress" prepared, a professional studio album . For Citrus Sessions alot of cats jumped on the train, its not only Mikah9 and Joseph Leimberg anymore but there are features of P.E.A.C.E. and his cousin K.I.T.S., Javis, Stix and Abstract Rude. Tracy Lane adds soulful background vocals to the album while you can find scratches from Exile of Emanon on the track "Me And My Girl". Headnodic produced "Viles" and "Everybody Gets Down" who was identified on my radar this year with his "Headnodic Beats Vol 1" release. Mike Meeker played various instruments and also produced some tracks and is also the executive producer. Ah, and there is also an appearance of DJ Kiilu, who produced the outro.
When this album was about to be released, Mikah9 put up he whole album as a free download because he said that someone else sold it without his permission. I have added this download release below plus some tracks that were also available as a free download from myka9.com including the track "Lost 4 Days" featuring KoKo that didn't make it on the album nor the EP. "Soiree" and "The People" were only on the EP.
The album deals with various themes in various styles, boring is something else...

Request: Naptron

To save time and space, you will receive the Released and Unleashed album from Naptron. Most of these tracks were also recorded during the Celestial Recordings time somewhere between 1998 and 2001 I think and I'm sure that Al 'T' from Jamonproductions put out the Unleashed album around 2003 or 2004. Sadly, there are no production credits given.
Last thing I want to tell you is about the track Herrerah which is an ode to the Good Life fellas...

Show Respect Here!

What should I say? Hella MCs and hella beats. What is also interesting is the way that some tracks split over some other releases. First there is an EP off this album, the track "Sealed Fate" is on Pigeon John's "Clueless" 12", "Permanent Paradise" is on Awol One's "Three Eyed Crows" and on the EP of it and "B-Boy Real McCoy" is on Aceyalone's "Accepted Eclectic" album and 12".

Three other definite bangers on this album are:
Ah, forget it and make your own decision :P

Albums, I better shouldn't have sold/lost Part IX

Yeah, I once owned this one and I am not happy bout selling this one, too! As I mentioned in the "Le Jazz" post, there is a list of Phoenix Orion releases floating around on Philaflava and there are also 2 other albums listed called 1080 Time Warp and 2080 Cyber Squad. As you might know, 1080 and 2080 aren't officially released and are sleeping in PXO's collection of unreleased albums were alot of other unreleased stuff also sleeps. To recall an example, the Zimulated Experiencez II was produced around the same time the first version was produced but was self-released by PXO in 2007, about 8 years later!
The music itself is kinda Drum'n'Bass type of sh...

Freestyle Fellowship - Innercity Griots

The Fellowships second installment featuring a bunch of interesting people dropped in '93 one year before the Good Life Café closed the doors and a new era began with the Project Blowed. Like Volume 10's "HipHopera", "Innercity Griots" was released on a major label which was a good thing for the popularity but probably it also was a reason for the end of the Good Life. The movie "This Is The Life" dealt with the growing popularity and the impact on the Good Life sessions. If you haven't seen it for now, I can recommend you to watch this movie because it presents a part of HipHop history.
This album contains the first Heavyweights track featuring high level MCs Ganjah K, Big Arch, Spoon,  Volume 10 and Cockney'O'Dire besides the Fellowship. BTW, Mikah 9 has a really crazy appearance on this one! Most of the production is handled by the Earthquake Brothers, a crew of producers, which consists of Jamm Messenger Devine aka JMD, Mathmattics, DJ Kiilu and Mighty O-Roc. They also join creative forces on the Project Blowed compilation!
